Temples and shrines Yasaka Shrine

Shrine famous for Gion Festival. Many deities are enshrined there-such as the ones for beauty, good commerce, matchmaking, etc.

Red big torii gate is the symbol of this shirine. In spring, you can see beautiful cherry blossoms at this shrine.

Temples and shrines Nanzen-ji Temple

You will get amazed by the beauty in this temple, like Goemon Ishikawa, a famous kabuki character said, "What a magnificent view this is!" in a kabuki play.

Temples and shrines Ginkaku-ji Temple (Jisho-ji Temple)

In contrast to Kinkaku-ji, golden pavilion, Ginkaku-ji has a very tranquil atmosphere. Please feel "wabi-sabi" (wabi=austere refinement, sabi=quiet simplicity).

In each season, this place is filled with its own charm and beauty. Especially cherry blossoms in spring and maple leaves in fall are must-see!

They have 1000 Buddha statues inside the main hall of the temple. It looks like each has a different expressions on their faces.

Sightseeing Arashiyama area

Many people flock to Arashiyama all season. This area has a lot of sightseeing spots such as Togetsukyo bridge, bamboo forest and Tenryu-ji Temple, etc.

Temples and shrines Kitano Tenmangu Shrine

Kitano Tenmangu enshrines Sugawara no Michizane, a well-known scholar who is worshipped as a deity of scholarship. Many students preparing for exams go there to wish for their success in the exams.

Imperial Household Kyoto Imperial Palace

Kyoto Imperial Palace was a residence for the successive emperors. Now it’s open for throughout a year and many people visit there.

Castle Nijo-jo Castle
